Review kite Blade Trigger 11th gen (Spanish & English)

A primera vista

La primera impresión cuando lo sacas de la bolsa es que es un kite bien construido, sólido pero ligero, con buenas protecciones y muy bien rematado. Con muchos detalles de calidad en la construcción que harán que la vida útil del kite sea larga. Es un kite de 3 costillas, open-C, diseñado para ser polivalente y permitirte hacer cualquier cosa a muy alto nivel, siendo perfecto para progresar rápido. El sistema de inflado es el Max Flow como el que utiliza Liquid Force, muy rápido y muy efectivo tanto para hinchar como para deshinchar. Llevo varios años usándolo y nunca me ha dado ningún problema. Eso sí, tiene una pega, deberéis llevar siempre con vosotros la boquilla especial de este sistema que no lo llevan los otros hinchadores.Tiene un trimaje sencillo, con polea en las líneas centrales y dos nudos para más o menos power en las líneas de dirección. En los últimos años, el Trigger ha optado por un borde de ataque de poco diámetro y un borde de fuga protegido con dacron pero ligero a la vez.

En mi opinión los colores son muy bonitos, me gustan las cometas vistosas sin ser excesivamente exageradas. En esto creo que Blade Kites ha ido mejorando mucho año a año. Hay que tener en cuenta que no es una marca joven, la Trigger va ya por su 11th generación.

Tiene un peso reducido, sin ser un kite ligthwind, y se sustenta muy bien. No necesitas estar pendiente de él, seguirá esperando en el aire sin movimientos extraños.

En el aire

La primera sensación es la de montar un caballo que ya sabe lo que hay que hacer, pero que si le pides marcha te la va a dar y no te la vas a poder acabar. Es de presión media en la barra, sin ser demasiado ligera ni excesivamente dura. Lo bueno es que puedes usarla con cualquier barra de 4 lineas de igual extensión con la barra pegada al chicken.

Es un kite muy equilibrado que dará una agradable sensación a los que empiezan, una gran seguridad para mejorar a los que ya tengan cierto nivel y cumplirá con creces tanto con los que empiezan con el freestyle, como con los que disfrutan del freeride y también con los fanáticos del surf, ya que tiene una posición especial para wave en bridaje, que hace que el kite haga loops más cerrados y tenga más driff y depower.

Cuando empiezas a navegar te das cuenta de que es muy estable y predecible, aguanta bien las rachas sin flameos extraños, no colapsa en absoluto y tiene una muy buena sustentación que te dará seguridad para saltar con confianza. Desenganchado el kite funciona de maravilla y a no ser que tengas un nivel muy alto de freestyle, no se te quedará corto para todo tipo de trucos de nivel inicial o intermedio, desenganchado o enganchado, con la comodidad de que su relanzamiento si cae al agua es muy bueno. No es una cometa delta, pero no te dará problemas para relanzarlo. Los kiteloops los hace rápidos, con seguridad  y con buena potencia, sin ser excesiva. No soy ningún experto en olas, pero he escuchado muy buenos comentarios de gente que la usa exclusivamente para wave y están muy contentos.

Tiene un rango de viento muy amplio. Basta de ejemplo que con mis 75kg y una 7m, puedo empezar en 17 nudos con 24 metros de líneas yendo muy bien upwind y también la he usado días de rachas de hasta 40 nudos con líneas de 20m. Con 10m podrías abarcar un rango de viento para muchos días y las medidas de 12m y 14m serán muy buenas para días de lightwind con tabla grande o hidrofoil.

Conclusión

Es un kite que sin lugar a dudas recomendaría para la gran mayoría de kiters que no nos dedicamos exclusivamente a una disciplina concreta y que tampoco tenemos un nivel como para competir, ni es nuestra idea. Si lo que quieres es divertirte y progresar sin complicaciones, es muy buena opción. Debemos de tener en cuenta que es un kite que ha ido evolucionando desde hace 11 años y, la verdad, no tiene ya nada que mejorar. Que no os frene que sea una marca poco conocida en algunas zonas de España. En mi opinión, es un kite que no es dejará insatisfechos.

Yes, it has only a problem, you should always carry with you wide-mouth pump nozzle attachment to make it work because this system is not carried by the other inflators. For the last few years the Trigger has boasted a small diameter leading edge and a light canopy with reduced dacron usage on the trailing edge for a solid but lightweight build.

In my opinion the colors are very beautiful, I like the colorful kites without being overly exaggerated. In this I think that Blade Kites has been improving year after year. Keep in mind that it is not a young brand, the Trigger is already in its 11th generation.

It has a reduced weight, without being a ligthwind kite, and it is very well sustained. You do not need to be aware of it, it will keep waiting in the air without strange movements.

In the air

The first sensation is riding a horse that already knows what to do, but if you ask him for a full ride he will give it to you and you will not be able to finish it. It is medium pressure on the bar, without being too light or too hard. The good thing is that you can use it with any bar of 4 lines of equal length with the bar attached to the chicken.

It is a very balanced kite that will give a pleasant feeling to those who start, a great safety to improve those who already have a certain level and will more than satisfy those who start with freestyle, as well as those who enjoy freeriding and also the fans of surfing, since it has a special position for wave in bridle, which makes the kite make loops more closed and have more driff and depower.

When you start to navigate you realize that it is very stable and predictable, hold up well the gusts without strange flames, does not collapse or backstall and has a very good boost and lift that will give you confidence to jump with confidence. Unhooking the kite works great and unless you have a very high level of freestyle, you will not be short for all kinds of tricks of initial or intermediate level, unhooked or hooked, with the comfort that your relaunch if you fall into the water is very good. It is not a delta kite, but it will not give you problems to relaunch it. The kiteloops are fast, safely and with good power, without being excessive. I am not an expert in waves, but I have heard very good comments from people who use it exclusively for wave and are very happy.

It has a very wide wind range. For example, with my 75kg and a 7m, I can start at 17 knots with 24 meters of lines going very well upwind and I have also used days of gusts of up to 40 knots with lines of 20m. With 10m you could cover a range of wind for many days and the 12m and 14m measurements will be very good for days of lightwind with large board or hydrofoil.

Conclusion

It is a kite that, without a doubt, I would recommend for the great majority of kiters, because we do not dedicate ourselves exclusively to a specific discipline and we do not have a level to compete, nor is it our idea.

If what you want is to have fun and progress without complications, it is a very good option. We must bear in mind that it is a kite that has been evolving for 11 years and, truthfully, has nothing to improve. That the brand is little known in some areas of Spain, should not stop you. In my opinion, it is a kite that is not left you unsatisfied.
